In the second half of 2023, Neighbors Helping Neighbors organized and hosted their first iteration of the Nguzo Saba Community Education Project, which sought to bring together an intergenerational cohort of neighbors to collectively reflect on how the 7 principles of Kwanzaa could be used as a vehicle for collective and personal empowerment, towards addressing issues at an individual and community level. Over 70 people attended the kick-off meet and greet held in October with about a quarter participated in the 8 week program, and created a video expressing their feelings and thoughts of Hip Hop and Kwanzaa.

In conjunction with the Nguzo Saba Community Education project, RNHN created a 25-member Rockaway Cultural and Arts Committee, which organized a Kwanzaa Celebration, which was held on December 28, 2023.

Members of the Rockaway Cultural and Arts Committee also serve as the executive committee of RNHN.
